**Bengaluru: Zomato Delivery Agent Assaulted Over Late Food Delivery**

A Zomato delivery agent was allegedly assaulted by two men in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Sunday, September 14. The incident occurred near Shobha Theatre, where the delivery agent was reportedly thrashed for arriving late to deliver a food order, according to NDTV.

The assault was caught on camera, and the video quickly went viral online. In the footage, the delivery agent can be seen being questioned by the two accused upon arrival. The verbal exchange soon escalated, leading to a physical attack on the delivery agent.

**Video of the Incident**

The video shows one of the accused hitting the delivery agent on the head with a plastic container, while the other struck him with a chair. At one point, one of the men even attempted to climb onto the delivery agent’s bike. Notably, one of the assailants, wearing a light-colored t-shirt, appeared to be intoxicated as he struggled to stand properly.

Following the incident, police intervened after receiving information. Statements from both parties were recorded, but no official First Information Report (FIR) has been filed yet.

**Zomato Delivery Agent Falls into Drain in Hyderabad**

In a separate incident last month, a Zomato delivery agent fell into an open drain in Hyderabad amid heavy rains. The mishap took place near the TKR Kaman area. The delivery man, Syed Farhan, reported losing his phone and sustaining damage to his bike due to the fall. He was rescued by local residents.

Following this, the Telangana gig workers’ union reportedly urged Zomato to take accountability for the damages caused to Farhan.

These incidents highlight the challenges faced by gig workers and the importance of ensuring their safety and fair treatment.
